DRINK WATER, DRINK WATER, DRINK WATER
If there's anything I want to do this morning, it's to slam down a bottle of water in front of someone and say "drink up".
Maybe not with so much violence though, but i can't say this enough, water is life, literally and practically.
Give or take, water makes up to about 60 percent of the human body, and not only does water play an important role in your digestion, circulation and overall health, it has wonderful benefits for your skin.
Without water your skin cannot function at it's best, without water not only will your skin become dry, tight and flaky it will also be more prone to ageing. There is really no other way around this, expect you truly don't want that healthy and radiant skin.
You probably have heard this sermon, over and over, drink water, it's great and blablabla but how really does it help? Here's what water does with acne for example.
Acne (pimples) occurs when your open skin pores is clogged with some sort of impurities or oil from your skin, this oil is present probably because there is an over production of sebum on your skin. Now you have just treated your acne with amazing products but you want to avoid any reoccurrence so you start a healthy intake of water, the water will flush toxins from your skin, and SHRINK YOUR PORES making them less likely to clog again. (Unclogged pores = zero pimples).
Or maybe you have heard that beautiful actress well above the age of 60, say with a smile, that the secret to her beautiful and ever youthful skin is water. She is right, while water won't CURE wrinkles, consistent hydration can help the skin keep looking younger and healthier, for longer.
I keep saying HEALTHY INTAKE and not just INTAKE of water because everything is best consumed in moderation, so how much water intake is just OK?
Health experts usually recommend 2 litres or half a gallon of water a day, but please space it out, we would not want to pay more visit to the toilet instead of achieveing that glow. The best way to do this is, i mean, the best way to space out this 2 litres water intake, is to set goals.
You can carry a water bottle with you at all times
OR
Have at least one glass of water at every meal.
And if you're like me, and you don't like taking plain water, flavor it. Flavor it with fruits. You can either squeeze in some lemon juice into your water (this also helps with weight loss) OR you add a few slices of cucumber to your water for a fresh clean taste.
Beauty starts from within, DRINK UP.
